Etiquette

Islam – is an Arabic word – based on its root words, it means peace and also submission to God, the Creator, Allah.  Islam is more than a religion, it’s a way of life where Allah has outlined every aspect of life in details.  It’s up to us to decide to follow or not.  In the Quran, Allah has clearly mentioned “there should be no compulsion in religion (2:256)”.

If a person does not choose to believe in Allah and not follow Him, and even if a person choose to leave Islam, in the Quran clearly said leave them alone as Allah has nothing to lose but them. “(5:54) O believers! Whoever among you renounce Islam, (let them do so); soon Allah will replace them with others whom He will love and they will love Him, who will be humble towards the believers, mighty against the unbelievers, striving hard in the way of Allah, and will have no fear of reproach from any critic. Now this is the grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. Allah has boundless knowledge.”

“(18:29) And say, “The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve.” Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them…..”

Allah’s strength does  not increase if they believe and does not decrease if they disbelieve. It’s easy for Allah to create new people and replace them as it is the ultimate truth that everyone and everything will return to him.

“(51:57) I (Allah) do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.
(51:58) Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.”

It’s because of Allah’s love for the human beings, that Allah has continuously sent Prophets and Messengers in different stage of life to teach and guide the human beings. Ultimately, Allah sent the Qur’an as a mercy to human beings to steer through our life until the day we return to Him. Therefore, etiquette in Islam is not only ritual but also reality how we handle our day to day life.  May Allah open our eyes, ears and hearts to understand His wisdom and may Allah give us protection and guidance to be successful in this life and hereafter. Ameen.
