In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Al-Ma’idah
(5:1) O you who have believed! Fulfill your contract obligations. All four-legged animals from livestock are lawful to you other than those which are hereby announced.  However do not violate the prohibition of hunting while you are in Ihram [Hajj dress].  Indeed Allah orders whatever He pleases.

(5:3) Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah, and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns, and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death], and those which are sacrificed on stone altars, and [prohibited is] that you seek decision through divining arrows. That is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(5:4) They ask you what has been made lawful for them. Say, “Lawful for you are [all] good foods and [game caught by] what you have trained of hunting animals which you train as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah upon it, and fear Allah.” Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
(5:5) This day [all] good food have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith – his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.

(5:87) O you who have believed! Do not make unlawful those wholesome things which Allah has made lawful for you.  Do not transgress; Allah does not love the transgressors.
(5:88) And eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And fear Allah, in whom you are believers.

(5:90) O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful.

(5:91) Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?
(5:92) Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and abstain from these things.  If you do not, then you should know that Our Messenger’s duty is only to pass on My message clearly.
(5:93) There is not upon those who believe and do righteousness [any] blame concerning what they have eaten [in the past] if they [now] fear Allah and believe and do righteous deeds, and then fear Allah and believe, and then fear Allah and do good; and Allah loves the doers of good.
(5:94) O you who have believed! Allah will put you to trial by making game [that which is to be hunted] well within the reach of your hands and your spears in order to see who fears Him, though unseen.  There shall, therefore, be a painful punishment for those who transgress after this warning.
(5:95) O you who have believed!  Do not kill game while you are in Ihram [Hajj clothing].  If anyone kills game intentionally, he will have to pay a penalty through an offering brought to the Ka’bah of a domestic animal equivalent to the one which was killed as determined by two just men among you; or as an expiation, either feed a few indigent or fast their equivalent days, so that he may taste the evil consequences of what he did.  Allah has forgiven what happened in the past; but if anyone repeats it now, Allah will inflict retribution on him.  Allah is Mighty, Capable of Retribution.
(5:96) Game of the sea and its use as food is lawful for you and the seafarers, but the game of the land is forbidden as long as you are in Ihram.  Have fear of Allah to whom you shall all be assembled.

Al-An’am
(6:118) So eat of that [meat] upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses.
(6:119) And why should you not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled. And indeed do many lead [others] astray through their [own] inclinations without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord – He is most knowing of the transgressors.
(6:120) And leave what is apparent of sin and what is concealed thereof. Indeed, those who earn [blame for] sin will be recompensed for that which they used to commit.
(6:121) And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience. And indeed do the devils inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you. And if you were to obey them, indeed, you would be associates [of others with Him].

(6:140) Actual losers are those who kill their own children foolishly without knowledge and forbid food which Allah has provided them, falsely ascribing prohibitions to Allah.  Certainly they have gone astray and are not at all rightly guided.

(6:145) Say, “I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine – for indeed, it is impure – or it be [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”

Al-A’raf
(7:31) O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.
(7:32) Say, “Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?” Say, “They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.
(7:33) Say, “My Lord has only forbidden immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed – and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.”
(7:34) And for every nation is a [specified] term. So when their time has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].
