Jealousy

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

An-Nisa
(4:32) Do not envy that Allah has given some of you more than the others. Men will be rewarded according to their deeds and women will be rewarded according to theirs. And ask Allah of His bounty. Surely Allah has perfect knowledge of everything.

(4:44) Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, purchasing error [in exchange for it] and wishing you would lose the way?
(4:45) And Allah is most knowing of your enemies; and sufficient is Allah as an ally, and sufficient is Allah as a helper.

Al-An’am
(6:165) And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.

Al-Kahf
(18:28) And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.

TuaHa
(20:131) And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
(20:132) And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.

Ash-Shura
(42:13) He has ordained for you the same Deen [way of life – Islam] which He enjoined on Noah – and which We have revealed to you – and which We enjoined on Abraham [Ibrahim] and Moses [Musa] and Jesus [Isa]: “Establish the Deen [of Al-Islam] and make no division in it.” Intolerable for the idols-worshippers [Mushrikin] is that to which you call them. Allah chooses whom He wills, and guides to His Way only those who turn to Him.
(42:14) And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt.
