In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Al-A’raf
(7:65) And to the ‘Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?”
(7:66) Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, “Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and indeed, we think you are of the liars.”
(7:67) [Hud] said, “O my people, there is not foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.”
(7:68) I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser.
(7:69) Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed.
(7:70) They said, “Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful.”
(7:71) [Hud] said, “Already have defilement and anger fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait.”
(7:72) So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us. And We eliminated those who denied Our signs, and they were not [at all] believers.
Hud
(11:50) And to ‘Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].
(11:51) O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?
(11:52) And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals.”
(11:53) They said, “O Hud, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you.
(11:54) We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil.” He said, “Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah
(11:55) Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite.
(11:56) Indeed, I have relied upon Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight.”
(11:57) But if they turn away, [say], “I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian.”
(11:58) And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment.
(11:59) And that was ‘Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.
(11:60) And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, ‘Aad denied their Lord; then away with ‘Aad, the people of Hud.
Ash-Shu’ara
(26:123) Aad denied the messengers
(26:124) When their brother Hud said to them, “Will you not fear Allah ?
(26:125) Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
(26:126) So fear Allah and obey me.
(26:127) And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
(26:128) Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,
(26:129) And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?
(26:130) And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.
(26:131) So fear Allah and obey me.
(26:132) And fear He who provided you with that which you know,
(26:133) Provided you with grazing livestock and children
(26:134) And gardens and springs.
(26:135) Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day.”
(26:136) They said, “It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.
(26:137) This is not but the custom of the former peoples,
(26:138) And we are not to be punished.”
(26:139) And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
(26:140) And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Al-Ahqaf
(46:21) And mention, [O Muhammad], the brother of ‘Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al-Ahqaf – and warners had already passed on before him and after him – [saying], “Do not worship except Allah . Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day.”
(46:22) They said, “Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful.”
(46:23) He said, “Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly.”
(46:24) And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, “This is a cloud bringing us rain!” Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,
(46:25) Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.
(46:26) And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah ; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
Al-Ankabut
(29:38) And [We destroyed] ‘Aad and Thamud, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.
Al-Furqan
(25:38) And [We destroyed] ‘Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.
(25:39) And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
(25:40) And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.
Az-Zariyat
(51:41) And in ‘Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.
(51:42) It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.
Al-Qamar
(54:18) ‘Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
(54:19) Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
(54:20) Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
(54:21) And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Al-Haqqah
(69:4) Thamud and ‘Aad denied the Striking Calamity.
(69:6) And as for ‘Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind
(69:7) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
(69:8) Then do you see of them any remains?
Al-Fajr
(89:6) Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Aad –
(89:7) [With] Iram – who had lofty pillars,
(89:8) The likes of whom had never been created in the land?
Al-Mu’minun
(23:31) Then We produced after them a generation of others.
(23:32) And We sent among them a messenger from themselves, [saying], “Worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?”
(23:33) And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, “This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink.
(23:34) And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers.
(23:35) Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]?
(23:36) How far, how far, is that which you are promised.
(23:37) Life is not but our worldly life – we die and live, but we will not be resurrected.
(23:38) He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him.”
(23:39) He said, “My Lord, support me because they have denied me.”
(23:40) [ Allah ] said, “After a little, they will surely become regretful.”
(23:41) So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people.
(23:42) Then We produced after them other generations.
(23:43) No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter].
(23:44) Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe.
Fussilat
(41:13) But if they turn away, then say, “I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt [that struck] ‘Aad and Thamud.
(41:14) [That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], “Worship not except Allah .” They said, “If our Lord had willed, He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers.”
(41:15) As for ‘Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, “Who is greater than us in strength?” Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.
(41:16) So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.

P.339 No.3343. Narrated Ibn’ Abbas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “I have been made victorious with As-Saba (i.e. an easterly wind) and the people of Ad were destroyed by Ad-Dabur (i.e. westerly wind).”
